I am running monroe struts on my 11 Fozz since 90K miles. Ride has been much softer with those. I like that better than OEM; personal preference.
Subaru parts reviews
I have an 06’ legacy. Bought the kyb quick struts and haven’t had any problems - ride seems to be comparable to the original ride quality.
If opting for third-party filters, choose high-quality brands like WIX, Purolator, or K&N, which offer reliable alternatives that match Subaru’s specifications.
I got my rotors turned and threw some hawks in it. HPS I think. No issues and they have good bite.
I put a set of r1 concepts pads and rotors on my wrx that I daily got them off Amazon for like $250 and came in like 2 days had them on for around 7500 miles and haven't had any issues.
Solterra owner here, living at 6k feet in the Sierra/Tahoe area..Installed WRg5s a month ago and it's been icy, near the freezing point on several occasions now. Maybe its the Solterra traction control, maybe its the tires...maybe its the combination of both, but I've been testing in black and glazed ice on the roundabouts and the tight icy corners and they won't. break. loose!
I went with Mobil 1 5w-30 ESP. I read around the Bob is the Oil guy and that is what I came up with what I would best for WRX that will be tuned with an intake (My opinion). I am sure there are other good options.
Bosch ikon but not sure they’re much better than oem. I’ve used them but I don’t think that last that much longer.
It was good while it lasted, but I would not buy a car with a CVT transmission again. My 2015 3.6R is currently in the shop with 99,700 miles on it and the transmission is toast.
Subaru has great handling, though I'd caution against the later models- the CVT transmissions are awful and fail easily. Tons of posts on those failing under normal use with less than 50k on them.
