Akebono Brake pads

Instead of replacing my brakes and rotors with OEM, I went with Akebonos (ceramic brake pads) and it’s shocking how much bite there is. Like I have to raise up my brake pedal at every red light or else I lurch forward. Also did a brake fluid flush.

Pros: shocking bite, very responsive
Cons: lurch forward at stops

We replaced the OEM Bridgestone with Pirelli Scorpion A/S 3. They are very quiet and smooth riding. I can highly recommend them.

Pros: quiet and smooth riding

Akebono Brake discs

I just got my brakes and rotors on my ‘22 RX 350 changed not with OEM rotors/brakes, but Akebonos. On top of that, I got a full brake fluid flush. I feel the same “bite”. I don’t recall my OEM brakes/rotors having such bite, but I do feel quite safer because I can go from top speed to a full stop much sooner.

Pros: safer, quicker stops
Cons: sensitive bite

KYB Strut assembly

I put those on a 2011. They are slightly stiff but super easy to drop in both front and rear. Really great on the highway but a little harder than I would like on local streets with pot holes.

Pros: easy to install, great on highway
Cons: slightly stiff, hard on potholes

rainx Wiper blades

Rating 2.0

A lot of people saying OEM. I think this is where I\u2019d disagree going OEM for Lexus. The wipers that came with my 25 RX suck. I got the car in January and I already need new ones. The RainX silicon ones last way longer and are way better IMO.

Pros: last way longer
Cons: OEM suck

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Rating 1.0

These are absolute JUNK. 35k miles on a well maintained Lexus RX 450h with normal driving - they are toast. We were going to change them in July because they are to the wear bars - except one bubbled a sidewall and blew while sitting in the parking lot today.

Cons: poor tire quality
Vehicle: Lexus RX
Mileage: 35000 km

Goodyear Tires

My new 2025 rx came with these and every bump or pothole turns into a jarring shock/vibration in the cabin. Add 21” wheels to that and the ride is simply unbearable and unacceptable for any vehicle let alone a luxury one

Cons: trash quality, jarring ride, unbearable
Vehicle: Lexus RX
