MOOG Ball joint
3rd Time Out
  • Steering precision:
Rating 4.0

I've replaced a radiator hose, a power steering pump, serpentine, clutch fan, a u joint, and I just did all four ball joints with Moog, and put shocks all around it at 190k this winter. I also just replaced all four o2 sensors when one went bad because at 191k....you figure you've gotten your money's worth!

Pros: good value, long lasting
Vehicle: Dodge Dakota
Mileage: 190000 km

I use RainX on my windshields, and replace the wipers at the first sign of streaking.

Cons: streaking wipers

MICHELIN Brake pads
FaLeX
  • Braking:
Rating 5.0

The Performance Package also adds more aggressive, more fade-resistant brake pads. Hauling the car down from 60 mph ate up only 121 feet of pavement, impressive for a 2-tonner. Equally important, the big four-wheel discs didn't fade at all during our trio of simulated panic stops. ABS is standard and brake pedal feel is linear and firm.

Pros: fade-resistant, linear brake feel

Tokico Shock absorbers
Psamtik
  • Body bounce:
  • Bottoming:
Rating 4.0

I had the opportunity to drive a regular SRT-4 and an ACR version on an autocross course, and while the SRT-4 is undeniably composed, the ACR version is just that much better. Like the SRT-4, the ACR version can be driven very aggressively with no big surprises, but it especially responds to smoothness. The tires and suspension are astoundingly capable, and lap after lap, don't give up. Inside, the new front seats are grippy and supportive.

Pros: grippy and supportive seats, capable tires and suspension
Vehicle: Dodge Neon

OPTIMA Battery

I have had nothing but problems with optimas and I am far from the only one. Go with either an Odyssey or a walmart brand yellow top. I had one sitting around for 6 months hooked up to a non running vehicle. Tossed it into my gf's bronco to fire it up one day and it started right up. Also, I run those in my diesel, and I left the interior light and cargo light for over 12 hrs. Got in and she fired right up.

Pros: started right up
Cons: nothing but problems
Vehicle: Dodge RAM
