Pilkington glass has never let me down, except their distribution centers. A bit of the best and the worst bundled into one name.

Pros: never let down, best quality
Cons: distribution centers issues

We replaced our entire front windshield a few months ago after a rock cracked it on the road. We made sure it was OEM (Pilkington) and the calibration was completed. The shop ordered the windshield from a local Toyota dealership they work with. Process was fast and quick. Took about a few days (2-3) for the windshield to come in and even after it came, they didn’t like it due to some blemishes on the window so they re-ordered another one. Installation took about > 1 hour and is 100% exactly as the original one.

Pros: OEM quality, perfect fit, quick process
Cons: initial blemishes

We have replaced the windshields in both the Tacoma and Highlander with Safelite 'Pilkington' OE equivalent glass. All safety features work just as expected.

Pros: safety features work

I used Safelite for a windshield replacement on my 2016 340i last year and they did a perfect job. They used the same glass manufacturer as BMW - Pilkington. BMW doesn't make glass. HUD and rain sensor were perfectly calibrated. No issues whatsoever.

Pros: perfect job, perfectly calibrated
Cons: none
Vehicle: BMW

My wife's CR-V needed a new windshield and the insurance wouldn't pay for "OEM" glass, so I checked the OEM/white label manufacturer (it was Pilkington) and got an "aftermarket" Pilkington windshield. Everything was basically the same, but the logo was on the passenger's side instead of the driver's side. I don't have the waviness that you do and they were able to calibrate the safety systems, but there was a minor defect (white spot) in the black portion of the windshield outer edge. When I talked to the glass guys about it, they said that almost none of the windshields they get from any suppliers are absolutely perfect. Most have some minor somewhere. They told me it was something to do with the way they "press" the laminated glass into the mold these days.

Pros: safety systems calibrated
Cons: minor defect, general imperfections
Vehicle: Honda

I had a Pilkington windshield put on my 2008 Malibu to replace the OEM. It chipped extremely easy compared to the OEM. Even the tiniest little pebbles caused big chips in the glass. I replaced the OEM glass in 2021 due to a tree limb falling on it and shattering it. The Pilkington windshield now has several cracks along the entire windshield. Also took Safelite 4 attempts to find a windshield that wasn't wavy or scratched.

Cons: chipped extremely easy
Vehicle: Chevrolet Malibu

My 2025 Carnival EX just got a crack and I’ve had it about three weeks. Don’t even remember seeing a rock hit it.

Cons: cracked quickly, fragile
Vehicle: Kia Carnival
