Imo, pilk is the better glass, but more so for quality control than overall quality. Personally, I install more fuyao than anything. If everything looks good run with it.
HAve had the change approx 2 months ago on my 2016, I did choose Pilkington without the audi marker. Paid 1100€ (Hungary) and until now it is as good as factory one.
For whats its worth, I had mine replaced at Safelite and haven't had any issues 4 months later. They used Pilkington glass which is OEM for BMW. HUD still works great. ACC did need recalibration the next day (City Safety features turned off) but they were able to do it at Safelite with Bosch equipment. I use Pilot Assist for >50% of my driving and it is functioning the same as before.
They put in a Pilkington windshield and calibrated everything for about $700.00. Everything works as it should, the HUD is clear but seems to be a a very slight angle compared to the OEM glass.
I have 9800 miles on my 2025, I currently have 1 chip from a small rock that struck the windshield while doing 70 on I-95.
Had a subaru forester 2020 and had to replace the windshields twice and I believe at that time I paid almost 2500 in total before I upgraded to better insurance. I was always wondering how It kept breaking on me!
my 22 legacy has had one windshield repair and I have had to fill in 3 tiny cracks the past two years of owning.
When we were at our local safelite shop for our 3rd winshield
My Forester Wilderness 24 windshield cracked a month after I got it, flying construction rock on a highway in Maryland. Couldn’t believe it
I went through 3 windshields on my 21 Legacy. I owned it for 3 years.
