Windshield OEM Subaru or OEM Volvo

OEM Volvo Windshield

I have a 2007 V70 with the 2.5 but went FWD when looking at these cause I figured it would be less of a headache than the AWD models. Had mine for about 16 months, bought at 66k, with 71k on it now, no issues.

Pros: Comfort, hauling capacity
Cons: Gas mileage, turning radius
Vehicle: Volvo V70
Mileage: 71000 km

I have a 2022 OBW. Windshield is absolutely messed up with cracks yet no damage was present. I’m starting to think these windows are decrepit shit pots haha

Cons: messed up with cracks, decrepit quality

My 2019 Crosstrek developed a crack about 6 months after I bought it, no chips from rocks or anything, I am still dealing with my local dealership to get it fixed almost a year later

Cons: crack developed easily

My 2021 Ascent got a cracked windshield around 1K miles, my wife's 2021 Outback windshield cracked around the same time. Before this, none of us cracked a windshield in over 20 years of driving.

Cons: windshield cracked easily
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 1000 km

I have a 2019 with 40000km and the windshield just cracked for the second time this week. Wasn't even a big chip that caused it.

Cons: cracked twice, not from big chip
Vehicle: Subaru Forester
Mileage: 40000 km

I own a 2017 Forester. I’ve had to have the windshield replaced twice due to it cracking all by itself. The NHTSA reports are absolutely true. The second time it sat at the dealer for over 4 months because they were on back order. This is all due to Subaru using thin lightweight glass to increase fuel economy for CAFE numbers.

Cons: cracks easily, long back order, thin glass
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

Earlier today I went under an overpass that was dripping melting snow. A few seconds later, water began streaking down the INSIDE of my windshield. It was entering pretty much dead center of the glass, where the rearview mirror is. It was also entering over on the passenger side (right side, American car). I've looked online and seen that this isn't an uncommon issue with Volvo glass it looks like.

Cons: water streaking inside windshield, uncommon issue with glass
Vehicle: Volvo C30
Mileage: 96560 km
