Personally, I think the Kia windshields are on the thinner side. I have over 40K on my Carnival and no cracks whatsoever.

Pros: no cracks after 40K
Cons: windshields thinner side
Vehicle: Kia Carnival
Mileage: 64374 km

My wife had a 2020 Forester. First windshield cracked within 3 weeks of getting the car, and we bought it right off the boat. Went through five windshields in 3.5 years.

Cons: cracked quickly, poor durability, frequent replacements
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

2021 outback onyx and we are on our third windshield after only 40k. Never had a windshield problem with an 01’ Nissan xterra that we drove to 150k and an 07’ accord that we drove to 110k. Subaru has an issue for sure.

Cons: poor durability, frequent replacements
Mileage: 40000 km

OEM Subaru Windshield

Had to replace my stock windshield a few years ago due to a tiny rock thrown, and this was after having another chip repaired too. Paid for an actual OEM replacement out of pocket vs. aftermarket and had SafeLite install.

Cons: fragile to impacts, prone to chipping
Vehicle: Subaru
