I own a 2019 OB Touring with six cylinders. I’m the original owner. I’ve had numerous battery issues, but SOA replaced the DCM Module two years ago, and the battery has been working well so far. In April 2025, SOA also replaced my head unit at no cost to me. Additionally, there was a fuel pump recall several years ago. I get service at a local Subaru dealer, and I’ve been happy with their service. However, the windshields broke once from a stone hitting it, and they’re known for having low-quality windshields. So, I have insurance that covers a 50-dollar copay. Fuel economy isn’t the best, but I enjoy driving it and feel safe in it. Overall, I’m pleased with my car, and the biggest problem was my battery issues, which have been resolved for two years.

Pros: battery issues resolved, good service
Cons: low-quality windshields, poor fuel economy

Our 2019 Forester is the only car I’ve driven since 1967 that’s had a chip in the windscreen develop into an 18”

Long crack over a couple of hours of driving at 65mph. Had 5 different pre-eyesight models the have done similar country running over many years and no issues like that ever occurred. Seems like an eyesight issue to me.

Cons: chip became long crack, poor durability
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

Ive owned my 25 Forester Wilderness 1 month now. 1 week in passing vehicle kicks up a tiny rock and I get my first rock chip. Then a week later merging on highway I get 2 more little ones on lower left of windshield.

Cons: 3 chips in 1 month

Two days into owning my 2025 my wife noticed a small crack on the INSIDE of my new Forester. Fast forward two months I take the car on my first longer road trip. First day of the trip I catch a rock to the middle of the windshield and have a pretty bad chip.

Cons: crack on inside, bad chip
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

I currently have a chip in my 25 forester, chipped at ~8k miles. Been waiting for the OEM windshield for a little over a month now and will be about another month before it’s estimated to arrive at the shop. Frustrating process

Cons: chip at 8k miles, long wait
Vehicle: Subaru Forester
Mileage: 12875 km

My original windshield had to be replaced and I got third party glass and even that one chipped right away. Other vehicles I’ve owned and driven on the same roads never have any issues so far.

Cons: chips easily, cracks easily
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

I owned my 2015 Forester for 10 years and had two windshield replacements. Replaced by Safelite but pricey because of the EyeSight stuff.

Cons: two replacements, pricey
