Windshield OEM Mazda or OEM Volkswagen

Last time I had a windshield replaced by Safelite, they used OEM glass from Mazda. I had to go to my dealer to calibrate the safety systems, but that was before they started advertising that they can now do that.

Mine cost me $1117 to replace and it cracked in that same spot! I wanted an oem one so that’s why I cost that much!

I went through 3 windshields before they agreed to pay for OEM because the HUD was blurry or to high or never would get level. Once we got an OEM it was perfect.

Yes. My wife and I purposely drive far behind other vehicles to avoid rock chips AND STILL we have a few chips on the windshield at 7000 miles. Frustrating but that's just how it is now.

I actually just had my glass replaced today. The bill on my invoice was $760.00. It did not seem like it was OEM glass though I could have sworn the the old glass had a VW logo on the glass, and on the new glass I do not see any logos.

Unfortunately the quality of the OEM glass is horrible and I had them replace it again. The replacement was just as bad so at this point I've given up on getting a windshield free of distortion.

I just came looking for this post because I cannot believe the amount of chips and cracks I'm having with this car. Just had safelight out for the 3rd time and haven't even reached a full year with this car yet.

Garbage. I got scratches from scratching ice of the windshield in my first year. Even my old Renault Clio hadn't had this sh1t of quality in it's windshield.

When I had my CX-5, I've never had so many cracks in my windshield as I did with this car. Constant cracks, chips... I've never seen anything like it. I've been driving for 40 years and this was the first and only vehicle which always suffered cracks and chips.

weak glass from my similar experience. I will say I have less bad luck with the 3 Hondas and they get more miles on the same roads.
