One of the main reasons I'm hanging on to my 2017 250. It's a Lariat and has some features like backup camera and some other useless features that I don't use. Hell I don't even have my phone hooked up to it. Plus it's paid off 4 years now and only has 83k miles on it. Why take on another payment.

My wife's 2018 Explorer has all the bells and whistles and I can't stand it. Her windshield has sensors in it and costs $1200 to replace it.

Pros: paid off, backup camera
Cons: useless features, expensive windshield replacement
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 83000 km

On my 2005 P2 cars (XC70 and S60R), after multiple issues with aftermarket windshields and rain sensor problems, a Volvo windshield was installed. This resolved the issues, leading the location to change policy to only use Volvo windshields for Volvos.

Pros: resolved rain sensor issues, good quality
Vehicle: Volvo XC70

I live in Alberta. No windshields survive more than 2-3 years at best. Mine lasted 3 months before it got hammered by a cobble off a gravel truck.

Cons: windshields don't survive long
Vehicle: Ford Bronco

One thing I am noticing though on a negative level is a very distinct and rather annoying whistling noise coming from the windshield (center area; rather top section at the level where the rear mirror is) starting at approximately 150kmh. I am driving often on the German Autobahn, the car is specified for high speed also - and I would simply not expect such a distinct whistling noise from a 80.000€ car.

Cons: annoying whistling noise, high speed noise
Vehicle: Volvo XC60

My Ford Tourneo Connect has developed a fault where the windshield is detaching from the bonding material, a major safety hazard. I've contacted Ford Motor Company in Spain, but they insist there is no recall for my specific vehicle, despite similar issues and a previous recall for the panoramic roof glass using similar bonding.

Cons: detaching windshield, safety hazard, no recall support
Vehicle: Ford Tourneo Connect I

This has been an issue since the early 2000s the F250s have that same issue my California truck only place it has any body rust is here found it when I changed the windshield and evidence of ingress. No damage thankfully but ford just cannot seal truck windshields properly.

Cons: improper sealing, water ingress, body rust
Vehicle: Ford
