I have a 94 f150 that I had the windshield replaced not cause it was broken, it just was delaminating and hard to see out of cause it was the og windshield from 30 years ago
Changed a 250 windshield under Safelite, Had the Ford logo, worked exceedingly well.
Was it Ford OEM? Installer said yes. For what that's worth.
My windshield was replaced with the windshield from the dealership and it fixed it.
Windshield tech here. These windshields being almost straight up and down makes them very prone to rock chips, and the quality of Ford OEM glass has been getting worse by the year, it’s incredibly thin. If you replace it I would suggest putting in OE glass instead, if you can, ask for PGW or FYG glass.
I have a 23 SXP and on my 4th windshield.
Rock hit right at the top of my windshield and now the crack is traveling around the windshield.
Cracked mine the first 3 days of owning my 2023 Ex X-line. Shits still cracked
I have a 2024 Telluride and I’m on my 4th windshield. I’m in Arizona and it seems like any rock on the freeway destroys the windshield.
Ford OEM glass is thin and breaks easy. The sound proof glass or whatever they make. It’s thinner layer so it’s more brittle. More sound material less glass material. I put two OEM in my truck before I finally had enough and just went aftermarket.
I’ve already had to replace the windshield twice since then. The first had a small chip on the edge of the glass and it spread before we even got home. The second happened from a chip that was about 3” above the edge below the windshield wiper. The latter we had filled as safelight, and it spread about a week later.
