I got a saleri installation was very easy and it spun nice.
I have a Saleri pump with a Victor reinz paper gasket. I did not realize during my replacement that oem isn’t paper as that’s what was already on there, and haven’t had a problem. Interested to know if they fail slowly or suddenly and if I have to add another preventative maintenance item to my list, but it’s been going strong for 30K miles.
I just had the alternator (bearing went bad) and water pump changed (coolant leaking through the weep hole). Still the original block.
I got a water pump there for 80 dollars ford wanted to sell me for $560, I've spread the good word ever since
I had a Saleri pump. I changed it at 100,000 in 2013 and bearing was good at around 145,000 in 2021. I inspected it with a camera. It appeared to be leaking at the gasket.
Had my water pump go out around 29K miles this past winter. My coolant was very low and my heat was working properly. Luckily I was still under warranty. Keep an eye on that water pump. They’re notorious for failing.
Sadly, I've gone through two water pumps on my 2012 Ford Explorer.
This is why I’ve avoided the 3.5/3.7 Duratec engines in transverse (front wheel drive) platforms. It’s just fine in rear wheel drive applications as those use an external pump driven by the serpentine belt.
Yup, that's happens when they decided to put water pump INSIDE the engine. Ask me why i would never own a newer Ford. Oh, and a timing belt cooled by engine oil, what could possibly ever go wrong? Last 10 years Ford has managed to come up dumbest engine designs.
I had the same issue with the same Ford motor 3.7 in my Mazda Cx9, it is internal water pump
