Water pump OEM BMW or Pierburg

OEM BMW Water pump

I’m on year 3 of a 2020 M240ix and it has cost me nothing besides regular maintenance and premium fuel. Now I expect that to change soonish, as at my last oil change I was told my water pump has a very slow leak and, at some point, will need to be replaced to the tune of $2k.

Pros: love the car
Cons: water pump leak
Vehicle: BMW

A 525tds was my first car. Only ever had two problems with it. Heater fuse kept blowing- turned out the previous owners install of the head unit used eletrical tape which over time lead to a cable shorting out on the din cage. Water pump died - oem impeller was plastic. The replacement was metal

Pros: reliable, metal impeller replacement
Cons: heater fuse blowing, plastic impeller
Vehicle: BMW

Pierburg Water pump

I kind'a have some project and I need to use Pierburg CWA50, all I got in my country is this pump from benz (**A0005001986**), is it same model as Pierburg CWA50? Because the head pump is same but the connector is different (facing upwards). I tried to find specs from this model, the result is empty, can't find any clue about flow rate. I do have original code from Pierburg, which is **7.04933.56.0**, but can't find flow rate either.

Part number: A0005001986

Buy the M340i new and prepay your services. Great on gas but insurances and tires have been expensive. Water pump blew at 48k.

Pros: great on gas
Cons: expensive tires, high insurance

Mileage: 77249 km

when my original pump went bad, i went to Peirburg so that the plastic housing wouldnt crack. Pump lasted about 20,000 miles, bought another one from fcp euro for the lifetime warranty but this one lasted 20 mins before i got those same codes and overheated.

Cons: short lifespan, immediate failure
Mileage: 32187 km

Honestly, personally I wouldn't get a Pierburg. Got one, the all aluminum one and it failed right away, first day of driving. It was hard to push in the plug as well. And they are made in China these days, cheaply made it seems.

Cons: failed immediately, difficult plug, cheaply made
