Water pump Gates or GMB

I have had very good experiences with the NEW Gates pumps and they make a replacement tube as well. I have installed them in 17 4.0 engines over the last 4 years and had no comeback failures.

I have a Gates part with a plastic impeller in my car now and it's been attached to that motor since late 2015 with no issues when it was in my e34 and isn't showing any issues now in my E30.

I have their water pump on my Rx7, it's been A-Okay for over 3 years.

Excellent time to learn to do it yourself and buy a $65 water pump and timing belt kit. Dirty cheap for the miata. Just find a kit with a GMB water pump and a name brand belt.

Melling and Aisin are both premium WPs. Airtex is pretty good. GMB is ok.

I bought a Gates water pump off Amazon thinking I could go with a name I trust. Impeller grenaded after 5 months and less than 6k driven.

Installed this GATES water pump 5k miles ago…. Pully seems wobbly as fuck, safe to assume it’s already going out? gonna have to find a better brand

I put in a GMB in my '02 two years ago, and it's leaking already.

I had a gates kit on my Subaru and the water pump failed and leaked after less than 1000 miles.

The water pumps i’ve seen leak a few times on the v6 hondas.
