Tires Vredestein or Maxxis

Vredestein Tires

The Vredesteins def looked noticeably bigger (taller) than the Yoko Geoloanders they replaced, but that could just be a worn vs new tire. So far so good other than not looking forward to cleaning them regularly lol.

Pros: noticeably bigger, so far so good
Cons: cleaning them regularly
Mileage: 75000 km

Vredestein Tires

Since virtually all of my driving is on pavement, I went the running shoe route with a set of the Vredestein Hypertracs. They've been excellent, in the dry, the wet, and light snow.

Pros: excellent in dry, wet, snow
Vehicle: Subaru

If you do get new tires you should consider Vredestein Hi-Tracs. I replaced the oem bridgestones with these and they have been tremendous.

Pros: tremendous performance

Maxxis Tires

As others have stated, it is important to factor in the tire's width when discussing the transition zone on the DHF. I love the 2.3 DHF. I find the 2.5 to be very good, but less predictable.

Pros: very good
Cons: less predictable

Vredestein Tires

I use Vredstein Hitrac All-season on my 2023 Camry Hybrid. Barely hit my fuel efficiency, maybe .5%. But waaayyyyy better performance is rain and snow compared to my OEM firestones.

Pros: better performance in rain/snow
Cons: wear rate might not be best
Mileage: 10000 km

Vredestein Tires

Vredestein Quatrac checks all the right boxes. Replaced my now discontinued Michelin Premiers with them and I like the Vredesteins better. Consumer Reports and Tire Rack also rate Vredesteins very highly.

Pros: checks all the right boxes

Maxxis Tires

I run 29x2.4 Ikon/Aspen on hardpack and it serves me well. The Aspen at first was more nervous over roots but I think I was running too high a pressure and it’s much better. The Ikon is just my jack of all trades XC tire; not good or bad at anything.

Pros: jack of all trades
Cons: nervous over roots
