my usual go to reccomendation for "an tyre" are Toyo proxes comfort at this moment in time, good levels of grip and they wear well for a mid range tyre

Pros: good levels of grip
Cons: mid range tyre

Personally, I'd go with Toyo Proxies CF2's. I find they are around the right budget and still get "enough" quality without straying towards the needlessly expensive ones.

Pros: right budget, enough quality
Cons: needlessly expensive ones

I buy Toyo Proxes. They're ~$110/tire in my car's size and last 2-3 years (18,000-27,000 miles give or take).

Pros: last 2-3 years

Back when I had an Evo 8 I was running Toyo R888s, until they became too costly to run during daily driving, so I switched to Nankang NS2Rs.

Pros: good performance
Cons: too costly
Vehicle: Mitsubishi

Toyo Open Country AT III are the best all around. Excellent wet road traction too compared to the others.

Toyo Celsius (note that the II version just came out recently): "What’s even more surprising is that the Toyo Celsius handles ice securely, provided you don’t push too hard."

Pros: handles ice securely
Cons: don't push too hard

I had two sets on two trucks, loved them for the first 10k miles and after that they pulled to the right all the time and were quite loud. Getting alignments done didn’t help it pulling to the right and as soon as I got different tires the pull went away.

Pros: loved them first 10k miles
Cons: pulled to the right, loud
Mileage: 10000 km

I just got my first experience on the Toyos this morning in some snow here in Virginia. The Toyos were really pretty awful :-(. They're fine for getting going and driving around - in fact, even starting off a hill was really no issue, but God help you if you have to stop quickly...because they wont. It was a slide-fest even with just a thin layer of snow.

Pros: fine for getting going
Cons: awful stopping quickly
Vehicle: Mazda 2
Mileage: 13000 km
