Tires Toyo or Firestone
Have a couple sets of the Firestones currently for another car. Will buy more when the need arises.
Spirited street driving with the occasional track day, just fine.
I've got the firehawks on mine and i love them. I chose them precisely because of their price.
Can't speak to the super sports, but the firehawks are absolutely worth the money
I just put a set of Toyo AT3 on my truck. Feels like I'm driving on Velcro compared to the KO2's. Those tires were great on the trails, but felt like I was gonna end up in someone's front yard in the rain.
Toyo GSI-6. Blockier pattern does well in heavy snow and is still good on ice and slush, but a shorter life.
Beat bang for buck is the Firestone indy500 Firehawk. There is a reason they have a lot of hype around them
I'm extremely happy with my Firestone Destination X/T's in LT285/65R20E. They are quiet, good in the rain and very solid feeling even on my 1 Ton.
I have the all season version of these and they're great in the rain. If I'm going uphill or accelerating hard I get a little bit of wheel spin on stock wheels.
One of the TireRack reps suggested the Firestone WeatherGrip tire. He drives an Alltrack and said that tire is the best all season/winter mild tire, but not at lot of people buy it because they think is not a really all season.
Buy the best you can afford, but name brand can be deceiving. IMO both Goodyear and Firestone are lower tier brands.
I had vibration problems on my ‘16 GTI (at 75+ MPH) with new Firehawk Indy 500’s on new Neuspeed hub centric wheels too. Balanced 3 times still the same problem. Swapped into different tires. Problem completely solved.
