Tires Toyo or Firestone
I've run the Toyo GSi 6 HP for a while and it's been really good, I would prefer maybe a bit more ice traction at intersections polished by idiots flooring it and turning it into a skating rink.
Just got some 285/75r16 toyo at3's installed and they look and feel great. It's a 2023 tacoma trail edition so i wasn't sure how they would fit with the trail having the miniscule lift and the different rin offset but I just had it out wheeling and the only rubbing i had was 2 little spots on the front mudflaps only when half turned. I took a heat gun and pushed them in and that eliminated the rubbing entirely. Im really loving the look and feel (im not sure if its just me but it feels more planted to the ground). The fuel mileage went up to 15.4L/100 on the highway which isnt the worst and there is more road noise too but coming from my dodge dakota its still 1000x's better.
I have toyo at3 in that size on my 4th gen and there is zero rubbing. The only problem I have with 285 is they are super wide and the spare does not look good sagging under the truck. It fits it just doesn't look good at all.
I've had a FWD Corolla for 12 years and it has gotten me through the worst kind of storms in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and here in NL with Firestone Winterforce tires. I swear by them! I've gotten through conditions in snow storms that even big jacked up 4 wheel drive trucks got stuck in.
Toyo at 3 are the best tires ever.
I had the Toyos on my truck and loved them. Very stable, good handling, aggressive look, and low road noise.
Toyo's are the best tire I've ever had. They balance well, don't cup, are quiet by AT tire standards, and are great in rain and snow.
I was going for something more aggressive and got the Toyo AT3 EV tires that get so much attention in this sub. They’re louder than the Michelins but not howlers like a lot of aggressive treads. Efficiency may have dropped by 0.1 mi/kWh. I’ve driven 2k miles on them so they’re pretty well settled in. I haven’t had any winter conditions to test them on yet but they’re triple-peak rated.
I bought these tires 18,000 miles ago. My car is a Toyota Camry. And frankly, it was smoother before these tires. Definitely avoid these tires.
I had firestone put 2 on the front of my 2015 Camry. I put 7,000 miles on them and they are already worn out.
