Bought a separate set of winter wheels, sensors, and tires (Vredestein Wintrac Pro) from Tire Rack. Otherwise just regular maintenance. Driven over 65k miles so far, almost all of it chasing snow throughout New England.
ive had a great experience with the vredestein quadtrac pro. caveat that it was purchased for its snow/winter capability but in the dry and rain its been very solid too
I personally bough VREDESTEIN HYPERTRAC tires from there and I am having them installed by Express Tire Saline (1st time customer).
Put a set of new Vredestein Quatrac Pro tires a couple months ago without issue. No alignment done.
Just reporting first snow, 6", with Sumimoto 205.60.16 Ice Edge snow tires on 16"Austin wheels, GREAT. Soft tire, slows cornering cheap really grips, comfortable.
As for my Arteon I bought these 6 months ago and I absolutely love them. They're made in Norway and are all season but they're also severe snow rated and I can confirm they perform way better than most all seasons in the snow. Super quiet grand touring tire.
I have them on my 2019 Audi A4. We often have clear roads in the winter here in Boston, so I buy performance winter tires. The Wintracs have been excellent. They are fairly quiet and they handle well in all of the winter conditions that I’ve encountered.
My V60PE has Vredstein Wintrac Pros .. have not used them in the snow, but they feel great in the dry. Not summer performance tires, but stable and drive really well.
I have them on my 86. The sidewalls are OK, not great. They do leave something to be desired as far as cornering, as they seem to break loose with little warning.
Vredestein Quatrac Pro will be my next set. I am so tired of buying Cont, Mich and other high mileage tires that don’t ware even and make noise before tread is gone, then I am stuck with a tire i over paid for and hate riding on. The tread lasts but they never seem to stay quiet.
