On the Vitours so at least for now prefer them ????
Vitour P1 is the hot new tire to run. As fast as the fastest, really stiff sidewall to keep you somewhat taught on a oversized tire, and longer lasting than any other top tier 200tw tires.
I just finished a coaching session with my friends 992 Carrera S on some new Vitour P1's and was very impressed with how they handled 20+ minute sessions. The heat tolerance is probably the best characteristic, especially compared to the yokes! The P1 just doesn't fall off on grip like that, they are very consistent and don't mind the high heat of the track.
If you will daily these AND do some AX, go for the Vitour P1 tires. They are as fast or faster than the RT660 but will last a lot longer. They also won't fall off in the AZ heat - they hold heat a lot better.
Vitour P1 has you covered. Fastest Super 200 tire out this season (check out GRM review). Also, they don't slow down when hot, and they're lasting longer than a y other options.
I may try the vitour next tire set. They sure preach they are fast and long wearing. Their prices are a little less than my 71RS so I guess worth a shot.
Sailun Terramax A/T 4S, I’ve run these for years. They have been fine, price was fair.
I came across the Vitour Galaxy R1s — they’re V-rated, which is cool, but I’m not sure if they’re DOT approved. From what I can tell, they’re made by a South African brand (possibly China-owned) and seem to be geared toward drift/race use.
Just wondering if anyone’s actually run these? How’s the grip and overall quality? I’m aiming for a tire that can handle daily driving and still be fun in the corners without dropping $500+ on Avons CR6ZZ
Not the best I've had in the snow but not the worst either. we generally take the truck camping, so have had instances of wet grass, mud and such and it works well. Very gooey mud is a problem. It's performed well on some very steep dirt road mountains in Arkansas, just keep up the momentum, but had pretty low slipping considering that particular road.
My only issue I've had that concerns me is they were not balanced properly. Didn't learn of that until I started bumping on the road, at which point some flat spots were formed.
Mine are now just under 9k wear and have become noisey AF. Not to mention they seem to grip less and less as they get used. On a 2015 GTI and I have the car aligned twice a year with winter/summer seasons tire swaps. New they were awesome.
