I've been running Blizzaks for a few years now. Love them.
I am about to swap over to the Bridgestone Blizzak WS80s I bought last season. Very pleased with the wear and performance. My only complaint is that they are a little loud in wet weather. I ran General Altimax Arctic for six seasons and that was a great tire. Bang for the buck was superb.
I just put the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS on my Alltrack (225/45/18) and I really like them.
I am running Blizzak WS80's. The Tiguan has a really good 4motion system in my opinion. Have driven this vehicle in some pretty harsh snow conditions in Upstate NY and Ontario. It has never let me down.
Bridgestone RE-71R alllll day for me.
Correct they're renamed RE-11's. I only use them for summer since I'm in the Chicago area. I've had them on the car for three summer's now and they're pretty much done for now but that includes a couple track days per summer. They're probably about 90% of the PSS in the end they lack the ultimate grip of the PSS but at about a 1/3 of the price. I'd wager I've put about 25k on them in the three summers which is pretty good for a summer only tire.......
My 2018 Tiguan S came with Bridgestone Ecopias. They're nice and quiet. A 2018 Tiguan S loaner that I drove for a week had the Continentals. I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but I think the Ecopias are smoother and quieter.
I'm very impress so far by the handling in the snow with these tires..... They performs well even at -20 degrees Celsius and lower (-4 F)
FWIW I am also in Oregon and have found the the Indy 500s inferior to the OEM Bridgestones in the dry, but better in most other respects.
Definitely a great wet tire - though my wheel hop is back despite the RMM. On a very wet onramp (99E SB to 224... aww yeah) I was able to hold a 4 wheel drift, pretty cool for a FWD car. But the turn-in still feels a little too..... normal.
my buddy just picked up ws70's for his 2011 wrx. yesterday we went for a ride up the mountains and both of us where dissapointed in the ws70's. There was no snow or ice, but we did hit wet/damp roads and the ws70's where very squirmy in the corners. they sort of understeer then snap and oversteer. I wouldnt suggest them if she does any sort of spirited driving.
