Yeah driver mod, I try to never drive my car in the rain. I was perfectly fine on Nitto NT55G2.
Nitto Motivo 365 are a fair bit less than the CC2 and are an excellent all weather tire. I've had them on my Forester for a year now. On the Legacy, I used to swap between dedicated summer and winter tires, but the Nittos have been excellent, and I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not having snow tires.
Usually it is recommended to replace the tyre for puncture on the shoulder or the sidewall but it is a very small nail. Personally I would get it repaired and move it to the rear.
Compared to the continentals my initial impression is that the Motivo 365 grab in the dry snow, packed snow, and slush much better. I had one intersection that was a little messy and in similar situations my Contis were quick to lose traction but the Motivos grabbed really well.
Throw some studded tires on and you’ll be fine. I made it back to Saskatchewan after a blizzard in Banff Alberta where it snowed 10” of slush. It was a slow drive dragging through the snow.
I had nitto motivo before and they were pretty solid for a tire.
I always ran Nitto NT555 gen 1 and gen 2 on my LS430. Pretty light stretch, especially the gen 2’s as they run wider. Been running these sizes and wheels for 12 years.
Ran Grapplers on my F150 and they are loud AF. They’re not nearly as good on wet pavement, snow, ice as Wildpeaks.
I am over buying tires. My wheel setup includes NITTO NEO GEN FRONT: 205/40 REAR: 215/40. Tires are stretched. I had a wide body made and I’m now running-2.6 rear and -1 front to hopefully get longer life out of my tires.
