The new Goodyear 245's I got are killer.
These were my all around favorite tire as well, and I had them on my B5 Passat back from '03-05. Best tires I've driven on yet. Only other tire that compared to the grip was a set of Bridgeston Re040's on my '06 GLI and my mother's '04 BMW 530i.
i changed my tires to XL (Eagle F1 Asymm's) and the problem is solved. i have hit some very nasty edges and haven't had any drama whatsoever... i believe it certainly would have been a replacement if it wasn't for the XL-strength sidewall.
great tires! wonderful in corners, i love them!
If you are talking about the neogens, they stretch amazing. I also have 215/35/19's on an 8.5. I was able to lower more after switching to these.
I have 10k on the Goodyear Eagle all seasons and so far so good. I love their aggressive-looking tread and they handle fine in the rain, but the jury is still out on snow performance.
I got the Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons, and love them. They perform as good as the summer-only variation (not easy to find in many all-seasons), yet offer the security of being able to drive safely n low-temps/snow.
i'm looking at a set of 9.5 in a 44et all the way around.. i have a 9.5 35et 245 on my rear now and i rub like crazy on bumps..
Reviews for that tire at TireRack aren't exactly stellar. Great tire in the rain, in fact VERY high traction in wet conditions. Almost to the point that it's a technological marvel. But...it gives up so much in the dry that it feels like a sloppy truck truck tire with 10psi. It corners terribly in the dry, the steering response is horrible and wanders all over the road.
Have nitto neogen on now and do not like them. Pirelli , bridgestone Potenzas, nitto invos and michelin pilot ss on my previous cars. I will stick with michelin on the next purchase.
