MT71s are good and the FT7 Nankangs seem to work ok:
Tires that work well in the heat with more pace than a V730? Nankang CRS.
Also lift kit, 14” rims and nankang AT tires so I can get to more remote job sites.
You may also look at Nankang AR1, 100tw semi slicks, if it’s only for track and dry days.
I had great experience, my car weighs 3k lbs, and the set lasted me for 16-17 track days, and it was a used set.
The grip in these tires is insane and improved braking drastically.
Nankang FT-9 tires have been awesome for me. I basically rally my little van out in the woods so I can attest to their durability.
They also handle pretty well on road.
And they are LT rated!
Nankang are cheap budget tires. They might have ran out of money recently and have been cutting corners on maintenance.
I myself also have allseason, Fulda Multicontrol. So far in those conditions you described they perform allright, but you need to be careful. I’m still not fully convinced to take them to direct snow since I have tried to cross some purely snowy areas and they get stuck.
Nannkang NS20 is the cheapest tire that's good enough you won't think about it
I don’t drive my Mini much, sub 100 miles a year. I had Nankangs but they started to split after 18 months. Not sure if lack of movement didn’t help but it was annoying.
Dude, my set of nankang tires from week 44 2023, stored in a shipping container, are worse than this. Literally sidewall cracks all over. Tossed that shit out so fast...
