Tires MICHELIN or OEM BMW

MICHELIN Tires

Put them on my Fiat 124 Abarth (RWD convertible). Firsts snow test was this morning... WSDOT plowed the road down to hardpack snow/ice, and they did great. No trouble on the ascent, no trouble in the packed snow/ice/slush parking lot... Perfect winter-season tire for this climate.

Pros: great in snow/ice, perfect tire
Vehicle: Fiat 124

I live in Waukesha (near Milwaukee) and have LOVED my X-Ice Snows the last two winters. I commute downtown every day (30 minutes of mixed interstate/city driving) and am super comfortable with those tires on my stock wheels in winter

Pros: super comfortable, loved them

MICHELIN Tires

I have a dedicated summer wheel set and made these my dedicated winter set, having X-ice 3’s prior. They obviously don’t grip on ice the best but for everything else they have been superior. 2015 BMW 328i xDrive.

Pros: superior grip, dedicated winter set
Cons: not best on ice
Vehicle: BMW

I put the CC2s on my Civic Hatchback about 1,500 miles ago, and I have throughly enjoyed them. Last week they got their first taste of snow, and the grip was excellent. Many of the side roads were insanely messy... I didn’t slide once... I love these tires.

Pros: excellent grip, no sliding
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 2414 km

MICHELIN Tires

I only put ~8k kms / 5000 miles on them, so I can't comment on longevity. But I drove them through snow, sleet and heavy rain (winter tires), and up to 125mph on the German Autobahn, and they were just fine.

Pros: were just fine
Cons: cannot comment on longevity
Mileage: 8000 km

I changed from the OEM tires to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4's a few months ago and have been disappointed with them. They do have more grip than the OEM tires but feel really squirrely and "Mushy" while steering, especially when driving more "spiritedly". I miss how stable the car felt with the original tires.

Pros: more grip than OEM
Cons: squirrely and mushy
