Tirerack has Michelin defender LTX M/S for $282. I have them on my overland and love them. Stock were Goodyears and they only lasted about 35k miles. Replaced those with Nittos and they were really loud and never really balanced well. I replaced the nittos at 80k miles with the defender LTX M/S and couldn’t be happier. They have 38k on them and they look new. Great all around tire that is great on the highway and can do mild off road conditions.

Pros: great all around tire
Cons: Goodyears lasted 35k miles
Mileage: 38000 km

1,000 miles ago I replaced my worn Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 (A/S 4) tires in stock 225/40-18 size with another set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires in a taller 225/45-18 size. One MAJOR surprise with the new taller tires is a DRAMATIC improvement in ride. The reduction in harshness with the taller tires is shocking to me. Yes, the car is still firm riding - but these taller tires do a fantastic job of taking the edge off all the road imperfections. Even my daugter can feel the difference.

Pros: dramatic improvement in ride
Cons: speedometer reads 2mph low
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 1000 km

I recently had CC2 tires on Audi Q5 2021. Its huge upgrade compared to OEM Kumho tires. But....I have lost 10% mileage :(( Just came here to tell considering this point whoever is on fence.

Pros: huge upgrade
Cons: lost 10% mileage
Vehicle: Audi Q5

Anyways, blizzaks are Canada's most widely sold winter tires, I bought Michelin X-Ice, what you need to realize is that the cheapest winter tire is going to be better than the best summer tire under a certain temperature.

Pros: better than summer tire

Temps below 40 will ruin your summers. The material they build summers with is different than winters. Below 40, it will crack and literally turn into plastic. I went with the Michelin CC2 because they last a lot longer than pure winter tires with only a tiny bit less traction on ice and snow.

Pros: last a lot longer
Cons: less traction on ice

Nokia Tires

So far they're awesome. They feel kinda chunky in a good way, but smooth, and they are absolutely glued down on the steep icy driveway.

Pros: smooth, glued down
Vehicle: Subaru

Michelin x-ice are for more roads and packed snow. I have a set of x ice 2 that are great, lots of grip in the winter. Much better stopping on plowed roads, and deeper snow they handle great

Pros: lots of grip, better stopping

MICHELIN Tires

They’re meh, I went from having Michelin crossclimates on my 2010 to the OEM tires on my new OB. They do OK in snow, good in rain.

Pros: good in rain, OK in snow
Cons: they're meh

Nokia Tires

I personally know they are trash. Great advertising, poor engineering. Stay clear of Blizzaks and get Nokian.

Pros: great advertising
Cons: poor engineering
