Michelin - I've had the Pilot Super Sport and Pilot AS4+. They're definitely not cheap, but hands down superior to the Continental equivalent. The AS4+ is almost grippy enough to compete with the Conti summer tire, while also being quieter and producing slightly higher gas mileage.

Pros: superior to Continental, quieter
Cons: definitely not cheap

I've rocked Michelin AS4 (and their predecessor) for years in my cars...Zero issues and only switched to the Continental just to try something different...the performance they can now get out of all season tires is pretty impressive.

Pros: impressive performance, zero issues

As much as I love the Continental DWS 06+, I needed to purchase a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2 tires. The Continental DWS 06+ were fine. I got by the Winter without problems. There were only 3 times that I felt that I could use a more Winter like tire.

Pros: fine, got by winter
Cons: could use winter tire

But the best set I have ever owned was a set of Michelin Defenders. Smooth and you always felt glued to the road.

Pros: smooth, glued to road

Our CrossClimates after being fitted mid-2020. The outers are at 3mm, and the inner 4mm. Over 30k miles. Seems acceptable to me. Ours are on a Freelander 2/LR2, so a relatively heavy vehicle.

Pros: acceptable wear, good mileage
Vehicle: Land Rover Freelander
Mileage: 30000 km

Thoughts on CrossClimate2 for San Francisco/CA climate? Considering these for 2020 Kia Niro EV to replace current OEM Michelin Primacy MXV4, which we have found to be terribly un-grippy in rain.

Cons: un-grippy in rain
Vehicle: Kia
