Tires MICHELIN or Giti

MICHELIN Tires

I have these uncommon/hard-to-find Michelin summer tires (made in Germany - they are normally for the base 15" wheel on Minis) on my Yaris and it's legitimately fun. It's like a grand-touring summer, not a full-fledged high-performance tire. The main thing I was after was better braking compared to the rock-hard LRR tires that came on it.

Pros: better braking
Cons: hard-to-find

I'm now running Michelin Power Cup TLRs for my road setup (similar to GP5000s) and I beat my fastest commute, my fastest long descent, and my fastest loop with hills handily. Before that I was running heavy commuter slicks.

Pros: faster commute, faster descent
Cons: heavy commuter slicks

I’ve run several sets of PS4S on different cars and have my first set of DWS06 on my GTi, and I will say that they are very impressive so far. I’d say they give 85-90% of the performance of a PS4S

Pros: very impressive
Cons: 85-90% of PS4S performance

My 255/35R19 Michelin PS AS4s are pretty good, but I can tell a significant difference in traction between the AS4s and the S005s that came stock. Could also be that the 255s are pinched on the stock 19x8 wheels. This said, I think I can recommend them

Pros: pretty good, can recommend
Cons: less responsive, pinched on wheels

Just got a set of these on (with 18x8 +45 wheels). Less road noise and a much smoother ride over the bumps. Highly recommend.

Pros: less road noise, smoother ride

Our first change from the OEM tires was to the Michelin CrossClimate 2 - so far, 2 years and 30ish thousand miles with plenty of tread remaining

Pros: plenty of tread remaining
Mileage: 48280 km

They are what I expect for OEM/stock light duty truck tires, fine on the road and light off-road duty into a farm field or pasture. They don't slip anywhere near as much as the Michelin aftermarket tires I ran on my F150 on wet pavement/gravel and seem pretty reasonable on the road noise so far.

Pros: fine on road, reasonable noise

I also have now learned that GITI does have an y factory warrantly with their tires..they dont stand behind them. Now I now its not THEIR fault or fault of dealer but my wifes 2018 passat new to use 4500 miles ago had a belt let go in a brand new less that 4500 miles and has a bulge dealer say giti has no warrantly of any kind so its all out dime. I will definately change these out when they wear out.

Cons: no factory warranty, belt let go
Mileage: 4500 km
