Tires MICHELIN or Continental

MICHELIN Tires

I switched out my Hankook V4's to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3...eliminated 75% of my wheelspin off the line (I should note that I have APR Stage I on the vehicle)...essentially has made reconsider getting the dogbone mount upgraded on the EOS. I've had the stock Conti's, Pirelli P4's, and the last set of Hankook's on...A/S3's blow them out of the water for grip.

Pros: eliminated wheelspin, better grip

Michelin x-ice 3. Great tires. My fwd Nissan never got stuck this winter, and trust me, Alberta winters are brutal. (I'm talking like a foot of snow on the road) it was good on ice too, this combined with ABS, made slippery surfaces manageable.

Pros: great tires, good on ice
Vehicle: Nissan

So,I think the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 is the best winter tire for drivers who travel regularly on snow-packed or icy pavement. The Xi3 rides quietly and comfortably, and owners find it extremely durable. In professional tests, it gets top marks for handling.

Pros: rides quietly, comfortable
Cons: none

I put on A/S 3s about 3 weeks ago, 235/50R18. I am more than please. They are silent, and the ride is so much smoother than the factory Pirellis. Almost fells like I don't have sport suspension. Traction and stability are superb. Stopping on rain soaked roads is as if the road is dry.

Pros: silent, smooth ride

I replaced the OE tires with Continental DWS tires and they've been pretty solid. I've got 35k on them at this point and they have good tread remaining. However, I took my car in for rotation recently and they informed me the tires were cupping really badly.

Pros: good tread remaining, pretty solid
Cons: tires were cupping badly
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Continental Tires

Mine actually came with Continental Pro contact tires. However, I did buy it certified pre owned with 24k miles so I'm not sure if the PO changed them before trading. Whichever, this tires are pretty damn good!!! I'm used to buying Falken Ziex performance tires which I have had on all my previous cars but these seem a lot better. Might have to stick with these now....

Pros: pretty damn good
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 38624 km

Continental Tires

Getting around in falling snow packed down I was struggling to get going on some slightly hilly residential hills. I do have the Continental PureContact w/EcoPlus tires and they seem better than the OEM Turanzas during my first 2 winters with the car. Otherwise, the Contis are decent in the snow for stopping and cornering and excellent in the rain

Pros: decent stopping and cornering
Cons: struggling to get going

I am a bit partial to the Michelin over the Goodyears in terms of the overall comparison of the tires. Granted, you lose on the fuel economy but you get a better all-around performing tire with comparable ride quality to the Goodyears.

Pros: better all-around performance
Cons: lose on fuel economy
