Tires MICHELIN or BRIDGESTONE

MICHELIN Tires

I’ve run Blizzaks on my 2014 Forester before, but I’m currently on my second year with a set of Michelin X-Ice and they’ve been great so far. The sidewalls on the X-Ice don’t seem to flex as much as the Blizzak so the car feels better in corners, especially when running on dry pavement.

Pros: car feels better in corners
Cons: sidewalls flex as much

BRIDGESTONE Tires

For the past 3 winters I ran Michelin Xice, this year I went with Blizzak WS80s and man, they are on another level entirely.

Pros: on another level

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Liked the Blizzaks years ago in unplowed snow, but around here the issue is more slush and ice so partial to various offerings from Continental with more sipes and less aggressive tread pattern.

Pros: good in unplowed snow
Cons: issue is more slush

My TLX came with Michelin Primacy A/S tires and they were very quiet . They were not grippy enough for my liking though, so I ditched them for the Continental DWS06+.

Pros: very quiet
Cons: not grippy enough
Vehicle: Acura TLX

Initially I thought it was the OE Pirelli. I replaced them with Michelins and had the same terrible road noise and handling.

Cons: terrible road noise, bad handling
Vehicle: Volvo XC60
