Tires Maxxis or WEST LAKE

Maxxis Tires

Looks like the dhr2/aggressor would be the closest match looking at the tread and tread size. You could go with the slightly slower (contentious claim on here) but more common front dhf/aggressor. I prefer the dhr2 over the dhf but giving the assegai a try once trails are opened here.

Pros: prefer dhr2 over dhf
Cons: slightly slower

WEST LAKE Tires

On the other hand, I had a set of Westlake tyres on my Grand, cheap and Chinese but they're well know to be tough as nails, lots of the mining companies out in the bush here run them on their work utes etc

Pros: tough as nails
Cons: cheap, Chinese

I've put a couple hundred K's on mine and so far I love them. Great for street, gravel, dry dirt. The only issue I've had is the occasional wet mud on a trail. These get real squirmy in wet corners but I can't fault the tire, that's not what they're designed for.

Pros: great for street, gravel
Cons: squirmy in wet corners
Mileage: 200 km

Rating 5.0

I bought a Trek Fuel EX this year, which comes with XR4 tires. I switched to Maxxis DHR/DHF after a month, and the improvement in grip is very noticeable. On technical climbs, its pretty easy for me to lose traction with the XR4 when I'm putting a lot of power down on a steep section. With the Maxxis tires on those same climbs, I never spin out. On the other hand, the rolling resistance is higher.

Pros: improvement in grip noticeable
Cons: rolling resistance higher

Maxxis Tires

My bike came with 27.5 **Ardent Race** tires and they are super fast and plenty grippy for most days. The side lugs grab corners really nicely. I have some 60tpi Ardents around and they are heavier and slower feeling.

Pros: super fast, plenty grippy
Cons: heavier and slower feeling

Maxxis Tires

Aggressor has all the traction of a Dhr while rolling a touch faster. It's pretty shit in the wet though.

Pros: good traction, faster rolling
Cons: shit in the wet

WEST LAKE Tires

Any tire sold in the us is safe to put on your car, the west lake rp18 is a knock off of a continental tire, I have heard good things about it in terms of value for money

Pros: value for money
