Tires Kumho or GT Radial

GT Radial Tires

I am currently using GT Radial (budget Indonesian brand) all terrain for our SUV and it performs a lot better off-road for me than the Yokohama Geolandar I replaced it with.

Pros: better off-road performance

Kumho Tires

V730 are perfect. The wear like iron, are very predictable and most important for a track day tire- don’t have heat cycling issues.

Pros: wear like iron
Cons: no heat cycling issues

Kumho Tires

I’ve had good luck with “value” level Kumhos and Generals. Currently I drive a used BMW with over 300hp that came with budget Kumhos. They were brand new so I kept them. When they wore out I replaced them with expensive Continentals. I absolutely noticed the difference in quality

Pros: noticed the difference in quality
Vehicle: BMW

My personal experience with Kumho is that they make good value for money tires. I'd get them. They score decent in tests and seem to last long wich results in quite low running costs.

Pros: good value for money, last long
Cons: score decent in tests

GT Radial Tires

I had very good luck with some Walmart bought tires. I put about 53,000 miles in them before I sold the truck and they handled all types of weather and road conditions. Highway, snow covered roads, occasional dirt roads and wet and never had an issue with them.

Pros: handled all weather, no issues
Cons: louder than stock
Mileage: 53000 km

Kumho Tires

Khumu Solus: 60,000 mile tread warranty. About $115/tire. Hard to tell on efficiency because it also got super cold right after I installed them, but they seem fine, and for the price and tread warranty, I will take a minor efficiency hit.

Pros: good price, tread warranty
Cons: minor efficiency hit

Kumho Tires

I've had cheap Kumho ECSTA AST's. That you get what you paid for, when money is tight. Their ECSTA Platinum LX was a much better tire, and actually didn't have wear issues which the PQ46 chassis is known for (feathering). Decent grip.

Pros: decent grip, no wear issues
Cons: cheap, need to be careful

Kumho Tires

Falken RT660 suck when temps are below 60F as even in the dry the rears won't get enough heat in them to work properly until around runs 5-6. Kumho V730 do better in cool dry weather than the RT660, but they're not a rain tire (at least not here in the Pacific NW).

Pros: better in cool weather
Cons: not a rain tire
Vehicle: Ford Focus
