Tires Hankook or Toyo

Hankook Tires

Last winter on my stock garbage Hankook all seasons my 4mo handled the snow like a champ. I would not be worried in a major metro area running good all seasons [like Continental DWS or similar] year round.

Pros: handled snow like a champ
Cons: stock garbage

RS4's are going to be your best bet. I haven't bought track tires since RS3 >>> RS4, but the RS3's are an amazing tire for the money. Best thing about Hankook RS's is that they maintain decent grip through lots of heat cycles meaning you can run em to the cords.

Pros: decent grip, lots of heat cycles

The noise on the RS-RRs is the single worst ive ever run. If they are half as loud as the RS-RR im already sold. For the price the RS-RR is a great track day/autocross tire although they are not top tier(RE-71R/Rival) around my region.

Pros: great track day tire
Cons: noise is the worst

Toyo Tires

Ended up going in a completely different direction. Found the Toyo Open County AT2 for 20% off, making it significantly cheaper. Couldn't say no given the price.

Pros: significantly cheaper

An alternative to the Indy 500 tires is the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2. I have them on both of my cars and love them, although they are just a little bit on the noisy side.

Pros: love them
Cons: a little noisy

i have the toyo m/t's. they're 37x13.5 r17 and they ride super smooth. you can definitely hear them a little bit but they are the least noisey m/t tires i've owned. i've also been told by multiple shops / people that i have one of the smoothest riding lifted trucks they've ever driven. so that says something about these tires. i'd personally recommend them

Pros: ride super smooth, least noisey
Cons: can definitely hear them

Hankook Tires

I had hankook ventus v12 evo2's during the summer in the northeast and had them on many days where it got below 30, I just made sure to drive slower and I didn't have any problems.

Pros: no problems driving slower

The V12s were fine in the wet on my GTI, but pretty iffy on the M3. Some of that may have also been related to the way I drove either car and each car's respective power. The M3 basically spun the rear tires in the wet on anything but Michelin Pilot Super Sports (which were absolutely phenomenal in the dry & wet).

Pros: fine in the wet
Cons: pretty iffy
Vehicle: BMW
