Tires Hankook or Nokia

Nokia Tires

For the EV, I go with a 215/65/16 or 225/60/16 as there's no need to have some wide tire setup on a EV unless you are going for looks or some offroad setup. I choose whatever is cheaper. Right now I have a set of Nokian ENTYRE's on both the Jetta and EV. Both last a long time (they have a 720 treadwear rating) are quiet, don't go out of round and the ones on the EV have the correct 102 load rating and a useless H speed rating because only way I could ever see going that fast is to pull a Thelma and Louise into the Grand Canyon.

Pros: last a long time, quiet, correct load rating
Cons: useless speed rating

Nokia Tires

Used them last winter, 18" on my CC, lots of snow and ice last winter. I live in the hills of S NH, lots of hilly back roads not a single problem, the CC performed as well as my 4x4 SUV on the roads. Best snow tire I have ever owned

Pros: Best snow tire ever
Vehicle: Volkswagen

A very competent "All Weather" tire would be Nokian WR G3. It probably won't have the traction as a dedicated winter tire, but will be better than an all-season tire. as it still has the Mountain-Snowflake logo indicated severe service.

Pros: better than all-season tire
Cons: less winter traction

Nokia Tires

I second the praise for Nokkian. Best winter tires I ever had. I hope they'll perform well on the GSW...but in no rush to find out

Pros: Best winter tires

Coming from Blizzaks, the R2s are a night/day difference, it almost feels like you have all-wheel drive. I never had an issue with Chicagoland winter driving over the past few years.

Pros: night/day difference

I had Hankook Ventus V12s on my old IS250 after the factory Bridgestone ER33 (Now that is a $hit tire) wore out. They were great and half the cost of the ER33s.

Pros: great, half the cost

The biggest tire buying mistake I've made was a set of Hankook V12's(not the newer evo2 version, which should be better). Honestly had them off my car in three weeks, the only good qualities being comfort and noise level. Feedback was awful, overall grip in both dry and wet was just adequate, and the sidewalls seemed non-existent at a variety of pressure settings.

Pros: comfort and noise level
Cons: awful feedback, poor grip
