Ran the V12s on my 370z and they were fine, with longer tread life than PSS (on that car anyways). Hankook is a solid brand, and unless you track your car, etc. just save the money for something else.
I recently changed wheels and tires on my jetta and I really enjoy the new look as well as the grip from the new tires. I went with a set of hankook v2 and they feel pretty solid so far.
The new Hankook V12 Evo2 is supposed to be better in terms of quietness and driveability. That may be a good buy on a budget.
I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2s for the winter and Hankook all-seasons for the summer.
Neuspeed RSe52 18x8 with 225/40/18 Hankook R-S3 (my current track setup)
I've been impressed with the Nankang NS-2R in 120tw and in 180tw. Would definitely recommend giving them a go if you burn through tires quickly. 265/35/18 120tw on the TSW worked very well and I ran them on the street between events. Strong sidewalls, even better than the RS3 at the limits, and very durable.
I had Hankook Ventus V12s on my old IS250 after the factory Bridgestone ER33 (Now that is a $hit tire) wore out. They were great and half the cost of the ER33s.
I have Nankang Toursport 611's and they work brilliant in the dry and acceptable in the wet And w/ a 500 tread wear rating, they have like a 50,000 mile warranty.
i have them too. they run skinny and stretch well. they are a little noisy though.
I 100% disagree with the Hankook Ventus Line. A directional summer tire? Absolutely pointless. AND a semi-slick? It doesn't make sense. They have water diversion channels. As the front of the water channel encounters the water, it shoots out the side in such a way that the tire is allowed to keep maximum efficiency. But what's the point of that on a summer tire? Hankook has taken a hit in their R&D department, their rep who brought us the RS-3 about 2 months ago said that they used the same radial belt design, while only changing the dynamics of the road encounter.
