I run the same General tires. Before that, it was the RT43. Yes, the are not performance tires. What I have experienced is they get better mileage, and last a long time.

Pros: better mileage, last long
Cons: not performance tires

If you want a solid, inexpensive replacement that won’t break the bank, the General Altimax RT45 is a great all-season option and runs about $131 each at Discounted Wheel Warehouse, which is a nice step up in safety without spending Michelin money.

Pros: great all-season option, inexpensive, good safety

GENERAL TIRE Tires

I’ve found general altimax arctics to be a good solution when blizzaks are too much money. Plus these are studdable , if you live in a place where that is allowed. I’ve been running them on my cars for the last 20 years with no issues.

Pros: good solution, studdable
Cons: blizzaks are too much money

By comparison to the Continental Pure Contacts, the General RT45s:

✅ Cornering feels tighter and faster

✅ Traction seems about equal

❌ Do not feel as "supple". Slightly harsher when going over rough pavement

❌ Do not seem to coast as long

❌ Slightly noisier

Pros: Cornering feels tighter, faster
Cons: Slightly harsher, slightly noisier

2022 F150 Lightning Platinum with original General Grabber HTS60 275/50R22 115H tires. Treadwear warranty 65,000 miles. At 18,300 miles Right rear tire developed rumbling vibration transitioning to a thump thump on highway. Pulled over to find a foot long bump where the tread was separating from the belt.

Pros: treadwear warranty 65,000 miles
Cons: tread separating from belt
Vehicle: Ford
Mileage: 18300 km
