Tires Firestone or Vredestein

Firestone Winterforce snow tires with studs! Now I have that satisfying clicky clicky back. And the ability to drive through all the snow and ice EVER. Sure, the handling on dry roads is absolutely garbage now, but it's more fun in other ways!

here in MN were we rally-x in fields, clay, and grass....I use 185/60/14 winterforces....I run intertubes in the fronts to avoid debeading.

I have had the Wintrac extreme for 3 years now and did some serious autobahn racing with those babies. I must admit that the tyres are superb,doin' 280kph on the autobahn is no problem.

All I know about them is they make good winter tires (and then... mostly only from reviews - I only have talked to one person who had a set on his car - and reported good results)... supposedly around the same levels as Nokian Hakka's and Gislaved Nord-Frost...

I had these on my A4 avant a coupel years ago. They were the best tires I ever owned. I had the ultrac2 I think. The rubber is very thick. I got a nail in it once and the mechanic at my work was impressed they did not punchure the tire.

A buddy of mine had a set of their snows on his Jetta - he liked them a lot.

A buddy of mine had a set of their snow tires - oh geez, about 10 years ago now? I remember them because they were freaking fantastic - keeping up with 4wd Jeeps in an 84 Accord through Wilson Twp in PA. I just remember driving his car and just could not believe the snow grip.

4 studded Vredestein Transport Snow's 185/75/R14 8-ply, load index 102, N speed-rated (up to 87 mph) I'd go with all 4 tires, rather than just the rears.

These tires were purchased along with the wheels. Two, i had a second tire begin cracking on the sidewall which they are not covering, and they are trying to pass it off due to road hazard and underinflation. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, which they aren't covering! I am posting this as a warning, and it is up to you to make the ultimate decision. This is just my personal experience, with which i am very displeased. The problem is not with the company i bought the wheels from, but with Vredestein tires. I have never had this many problems with a set of tires in my life!
