Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's seem to be the best budget performance tires.
After looking into it a bit I went with a set of Firestone Indy500s that mounted and balanced came out to less than $800. Had them for 6 months now, and no complaints so far.
As far as Indycar goes, it is hard to find a more prestigious tire company than Firestone. They have been a good partner to the Series for a long time.
The owners and drivers didn't want to ditch Firestone because their tires don't fail and they never have to worry about safety.
Uniroyal Tiger Paw all-season have been good to me.
I have been running a set of Firestone Winterforce 2 UV 235/65R17 on my 4Motion Tiguan for the past two winters. They have been a great winter tire for me. Really great in the snow and I have had no issues on dry pavement while interstate cruising at 80mph.
I also live in Vegas, just had Firestone Firehawk Indy 500’s put on a month ago and have 0 complaints
Firestone Indy 500 Firehawk
Very reasonable price for the quality, and they last a while. I had Toyo Proxes T1 Sports before and they were great, but very expensive, and they did not last at all. I prefer the Firestones for daily driving.
Now have Uniroyal Tigerpaws. A bit of hum but nothing that was too dramtic.
I worked for Firestone installing tires for a while, and those tires are pretty bad. I guess all budget tires are probably the same, but I wouldn't want those on my car. The number of recalls that went out on those was crazy, almost weekly. They also wear pretty damn fast, and don't grip for shit.
