But I have been running Saliun Ice Blazers WST and I have found them awesome so far (2 seasons). I even took them out ice racing last year and they performed good on a frozen lake.

Pros: awesome, performed good

Another vote for the Firestone Winterforce tires... Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with LOTS of snow, and I travel the entire area. Most of what we get is snow, minimal ice, and after experimenting with several different brands we go back to the Winterforce every time.

Pros: works in lots of snow
Cons: somewhat noisy

That being said if you're looking for cheap NEW winter tires, Firestone Winterforce tires are fantastic. They're kind of loud, but they work great.

Pros: work great
Cons: kind of loud

My housemate's '10 Mini Clubman has Sailun tires (not his choice) on it. In all honesty they're not bad at all, given they're still good with 10k miles on them, and the torrential rain we experienced on I-95 the past week (on a 2000+ mile trip). Likely will get better next time, but they're holding up well.

Pros: not bad, holding up well
Mileage: 16093 km

i run firestone transforce a/t's on my cummins and theyre great tires IMO. no compaints about them from me and they do great in the snow. a few guys over at plowsite run them too and no major complaints. grandpa runs mastercraft on his plow truck and they hold up very well too he had them on his 08 passat too and they were good tires.

Firestone Firehawk Indy Wide Oval 500. Dirt cheap 95$ (225/40/18XL). Great performance for the money. And you can afford to destroy them.

Pros: great performance for money

Check out Firestone Winterforce tires. Don't know where you're from but Tirerack lists them for $69 in 185/65/R15.

While not top of the line, these will get you through a lot of bad snow. The tread is deep enough and has a ton of small blocks to chew through snow and enough siping to get over ice.

Pros: deep tread, chews through snow
Cons: not top of the line

Those firestones are horrible. The dealer wants to give you them because they are the cheapest option....if you want winter tires without studs, get something better that was designed to not have studs in the first place.

Cons: horrible, cheapest option
