Ditched my Falkens the first week of ownership. Blizzaks rock!
The best upgrade i did was ditch the stock faulkens at about 20-25K of use and went with 225-55-17 all season tire for summer use.
1st thing I did when I got my Alltrack was drive to discount tire and trade my Falkens for some Conti PURECONTACT LS. Got $50 per tire on trade. OEM tires always seem to be cheap versions of their namesake that wear our early etc. Swap em now or before next winter.
I got falkens a couple days ago so far ride quality is great 150 a piece
And yet my S came with Falken Sincera (apparently 75,000 mi) tires that, other than being not the quietest rubber on earth, have been around a race track a few times, waded through a few inches of Chicago snow, and deal with the everyday "dodge dive dip dodge" nature of Atlanta driving no problem at up to 45MPG.
I have to add BFT blocks and 20mm spacers to avoid rubbing it looks better than stocks
I have the Falkens and I couldn't be happier with them. I've been able to use them on dry road, wet road, sand and rocks and they just grip. And they're quieter on the highway than the Goodyear Wranglers they replaced.
I put Falken Wildpeak 235's on my '09 Liberty back in April and I'm really happy with them. Great traction off-road and quiet enough to be my daily drive. Would highly recommend them.
I had 512s on my cabriolet, and they were decent.
FALKEN ZIEX ZE-512, I had these on 18" wheels and they were a hard tire, lots of road noise and didn't provide a lot of grip. I didn't buy them again nor would I suggest them to someone. They were fine, but I am sure there are better tires out there. I went with FEDERAL SS-595 which were cheaper, quieter and grip way better in the dry. look at www.onlinetires.com
