Tires DUNLOP or Sailun

DUNLOP Tires

My last rear was a d606 and now I’m running the tusk d-sport. I know it’s probably blasphemy on here but I like it better than the d606

Pros: like it better

The D606 is a beast and will last a very long time with both dirt and pavement use.

Pros: last a long time
Cons: pain to install

DUNLOP Tires

72k miles riding year round and like the Dunlop, after trying different manufacturers. I now use the American made Dunlop Elite, but also liked the original one because they wouldn't break loose in winter.

Pros: wouldn't break loose
Mileage: 115872 km

Sailun Tires

They are very grippy on dry (I'm using 205/45/17), steering response is fantastic, very direct. On wet they seem fine, though I'm driving very cautiously on wet.

Pros: very grippy on dry, fantastic steering response
Cons: driving cautiously on wet

Had them for a couple years. The way I drove they only lasted ~25k miles/set. Great for street and mileage but I got stuck a bunch off road.

Pros: great for street, mileage
Cons: stuck off road, wore quickly
Mileage: 40233 km

It was ok up to about 35000 miles. After that, They dangerously hydroplane like crazy. But those first 30000, I really didn’t have much issues.

Pros: ok up to 30000
Cons: dangerously hydroplane after
Mileage: 35000 km

DUNLOP Tires

For those who wonder, don’t!! I thought they would be all season, not shit ass summer road tires. Well… 0 control with \~ 1” of snow. Thankfully < 15mph but even ABS couldn’t fire or work. $3k cost for blizzaks, rims and $1000 deductible later.

Cons: 0 control with snow

Sailun Tires

They lasted about 30000 on my Camry. I had a problem with one of them that I had my local Firestone mount and “balance”. One day I noticed a loss of 3-4psi and subsequently saw a screw in the tire. Had been experiencing a lot of road noise sounded like a helicopter at cruising speeds.

Cons: road noise, screw in tire
Mileage: 30000 km
