I went with vredestein. Vredestein feels better to me, I do wish I had done for blizzaks because they're just so damn good, but my generations survived being put on the wrong damn direction for an entire season and there is no universe where I have problems in the snow. They were a great budget buy while still maintaining sport sidewalls and handling. 9/10 for me could be better dry grip but hey that's winter tires
The only two tires I’ve found that fulfill my requirements are the Vredestein Pinza AT.
I’ve used Continental (very good), Hankook (good), Goodyear (good - worse handling in summer than Conti but excellent in winter, higher wear).
Wow, nobody is rocking the Vredstein Wintrac Pro. Considered a performance winter tire. I like them. Tire is quiet compared to the Blizzak’s. Winter performance is good. Haven’t gotten stuck. Love ripping it up in the snow.
I ran the Continental Extreme Contact Force on my VA and it's a great endurance 200 tire.
We installed the Vredesteins on my son's Fusion, and they're awesome. He drove through near blizzard conditions in the UP without any problems last winter.
I had Conti DWS 06+ on my MK7 GTI and my wife has them on her 2020 330xi on 19s. I can't say enough good things about them. Good balance of performance and comfort, they are more taut than Grand Touring tires but still comfortable around town and on long drives. They've worn evenly and have been excellent in all 3 season weather conditions
I ordered my spare from ECS Tuning for $228 (looks like it is now $259) last year and it arrived quickly and fit perfectly with no modifications needed. It is a brand new wheel with a brand new Continental tire, which I preferred over tracking down a used spare from a junkyard. The foam surround kit is completely unnecessary and just wastes space that can be used to store other supplies around the spare.
I had that problem when I switched from the OEM Michelins on my Model 3 to the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 tires; I lost about 10% range.
They had good reviews so I put them on my old car. First I had a problem with bulking on one of them within a year. After that the rest of them showed a severe dryrot after only 3 years and only like 20k km. I sold the car, but would not expect them to be more than 4 years before dryrotted away. I will never get them again, even though I have fairly good experience from the farming world.
