My wife got almost 60k miles out of her continental cross contact tires on her 2021 Honda pilot. I like Michelin tires but was really impressed with the continentals. I bought the updated version which are the LX25’s. I live in Nebraska and we get all the seasons. Might be worth a look
I have the stock Conti EcoContact6 and they’re pretty good even in the wet. It takes deliberately poor driving to even come close to breaking the back end loose.
Mines too has the stock contis, and you can go full send in the wet and between the tyre and traction control, no wheel spin (unless you chase after it by turning etc)
I have a seal premium, live in a very wet tropical climate, drive in only sport mode, and with the stock continental's I find the car to be very sticky even in the wet it takes a deliberate movement to get the back end loose.
Went with the Continental DW06 since I had them on the GTI. Night and Day from the Summer Tires, much better for driving around town.
I have a solid set of Continental Tires that have held up well in Buffalo weather.
I have had good success with Continental Race Kings. They are not specifically hardened/flat proof, but the knobs keep the tire away from thorns and glas shards.
Get a good pair of Continental Extreme Contacts.
I just put the Enduro soft Kryptotal Fr and Re on and totally agree with your impression, they grip well but man are they noticeably slower than other similar tires. In my case Exo+ DHF and DHRs. I honestly don't know that the grip is worth it. I'm definitely not improving my time uphill or downhill.
I put a driveway stone through a continental tire. Never again. They have lost something. Used to be a good tire. Not any more.
