newer Bosch plugs, cap, rotor (maybe 15k ago)
Recently replaced original spark plug wire set w/new Bosch; wire set, distributor cap, rotor, O2 sensor and Platinum spark plugs
I think that the recommended plug (and original equipment) is probably a Bosch Silver plug, and that is what I would probably stick to if I were you.
the car seems to run really good at the .028 with the bosch plugs
I've been researching spark plugs and i believe the oem's in Phaeton are Platinum. I am certainly going to verify that and will change mine to Iridium's. For the purpose of better power, performance, and fuel mileage.
I found a set that didnt get sent with my car for some reason when i sold it they are worth the money my idle smoothed out with the bosh compared to the autolite 63's
They have 2 electrode and yttrium content with copper core. First, the car idle better now than with USED NGK 3 prong spark plug. The idle is lower at 800rpm(new spark plu gap) compared to 920 with NGK (bigger gap) The stock spark plugs were hafl used, white-black color but with some yellow tiny dots on electrode surface whats this ???? I went for a run and these spark plug are not made for high rpm use.. The engine noise is metallic above 4k and it doesnt pull like used but in shape NGK plugs. The spark plug gap is too small I think. I will check my mpg and report this later.
After too many bad experiences/unhappy motors I wouldn't put bosch plugs in a lawn mower.
I bought some of those and didn't think much of them tbh. My engine prefers NGKs for some reason. Feels smoother and more eager to rev. I noticed with the F5DPORs a 'welded on' tip which looked a bit weak
After I put them in (I was one of the first in my region to carry them and use them in my own car) I found a significant loss of power. Swapped those puppies out for some Bosch Supers and I was back to where I was before I put the Plats in.
