Spark plug Autolite or OEM Volkswagen

Autolite Spark plug

I have a 3.5 ecoboost. All 6 of my Ford plugs failed because of cracks. I replaced them with AutoLite iridium XP5863. They are all still going strong after over 50k miles.\n\nThe Ford plugs failed with a cylinder misfire error code. The engine would also bog down under havy accelaration

Pros: still going strong
Cons: cracks, cylinder misfire
Mileage: 80467 km
Part number: XP5863

Bought two auto light from autozone to fix a quick misfire. Used it for two years then took it out and saved it. Quick changed two with the auto light I had previously saved. And bought another one at autozone. 2 years later still running good. Gotten lazy to changed them out. But still running good in my 08.

Pros: long-lasting, reliable
Vehicle: Ford

I just changed my plugs at 75,000 miles...I was impressed as to how clean the plugs were and the color. Looks good. The gap was still .030 as the new ones were (VW 06K905601K). Definitely could have gone much longer but it's an easy replacement.

Pros: clean plugs, good color
Mileage: 120700 km
Part number: 06K905601K

Almost any spark plug is better than the Torch it comes with. The recomended is the NGK BP7ES, but is not made any more, many use the BPR7ES without issue, which is a resistor plug, but the manual specifically says to not use a resistor plug. I am using an [Autolite AR52 plug](https://a.co/d/7Z3keDh), it crosses with the stock Torch and NGK BP7ES and is a non-resistor plug. Many people hate Autolite plugs, but I have been using them for years in other vehicles and never had an issue, and so far it is working just fine in my 11500.

Pros: working just fine
Cons: many people hate
Part number: AR52

Autolite Spark plug

Most Asian brands are pretty picky about spark plugs. You put Autolites in a 70s malaise-era Ford - not in a modern, sophisticated, computer controlled, turbocharged Honda.

Cons: picky about spark plugs

Autolite are garbage plugs. Get denso or ngk plugs and gap them accordingly before installation. You can see signs of blow-by at the porcelain.

Cons: garbage plugs, signs of blow-by

OEM Volkswagen Spark plug

Hope you screwed them in with the correct torque, unlike my VW dealer. They started to unscrew themselves and causing instant misfire and rpm drops to 200 and engine shutoff.

Cons: misfire, rpm drops
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I agree with everyone saying NGK but I would also like to recommend you do not buy an autolite if you need a substitute, they have horrible quality control.

Cons: horrible quality control
