Shock absorbers Rancho or GABRIEL

Rancho has some adjustable shocks I’ve had on my CJ work great

Rancho RS5000X shocks are a great affordable replacement that ride well, just paint the shock bodies to make them last longer and remove the sleeve they put over the shaft.

Shocks provide a firm, stable ride

Easy to install and adapt to vehicle

Significantly improves ride quality

If you decide to go this route, Gabriel Ultra shocks and struts from Rockauto.com are good. Avoid Monroe and the cheaper brands. KYB are OEM, but the aftermarket ones are stiffer than the OEM, but are excellent quality.

A set of rancho 9000. The adjustment actually works and you can tell a difference. Probably best bang for your buck.

I used a set of Gabriel Shocks for the front and back of my 98 LX, they are spring assisted load shocks. Super cheap, but it's been 5 years and they are still going strong.

Currently running these. They aren't bad.

Those factory Ranchos are terrible. They are stiff as heck.

I haven't really been impressed with the RS500x. Better than Rough Country but not by much.

Pass on Rancho. I did a full set of them 4 years ago. Shop I had them done through is no longer in business. Even with receipts and invoices Rancho refuses to honor their warranty.
