He helped me rebuild the car using new and authentic German parts—the brakes, the shock absorbers, wiring harness, etc.
They fit! No rubbing anywhere. What a difference. Win, win. Handles just as good, so much smoother.
Side note, the wife's 12 tig has a rear shock going out. Factory shock/struts with aftermarket H&R sport springs. Those factory shocks lasted 100k miles with the shorter springs!!
Monroe is a long-time name brand and what I buy. They have worked well for me.
So far has worked out great, some models they don't fit because of clearance issues.
Well got the Bus back from the shop. Among other things we got the following done.. -New shocks Bus runs quite nicely now.
My wife had gone to the dealer because she felt she had no brakes. In addition to the brake job, they also replaced all 4 shocks and 2 front top plates and right and left front ball joints.
In my house we have two Passat CC, one from 2008 and one from 2010. Both have DCC suspension. Both have the same kilometers (120,000 km) and the same engine, but one of them has a different behavior than the other. It seems that the DCC, the \"active\" part, does not work. When I change from \"Comfort\" to \"Sport\" I do notice that they get harder, but when I enter a roundabout it seems that the outer shock absorbers do not harden. I have changed the 4 shock absorbers for new \"RideSense\" from Monroe, like the originals and the same thing continues to happen. The change between \"Comfort\" and \"Sport\" is also noticeable, but I do not perceive that the active function that regulates the suspension when cornering is working.
My experience with Monroe shocks was that "lifetime warranty" means, "for the lifetime of the shock".
I've never had a good set or known anyone who did. I've had Monroes faill in less than 1k miles on my Rabbit.
