Oil filter Wix or OEM Toyota
For all my Toyotas, I just buy the OEM Toyota filters bc they’ve got them at basically any Walmart, don’t even have to go to the dealership for them. I’ve opened those up too and they’re way better quality.
Im a wix guy personally and have read good things about them in the past. Ive subjected my car to a couple dozen track events with temps exceeding 280 degrees and have Blackstone Lab reports that have come back fine and "within spec" for their analysis. This is enough for me to keep using them.
I was overjoyed when I saw that a toyota-branded oil filter was a touch over $5 vs $25 for the an oil filter for the 997.
I have been using exclusively Wix filters on my oil changes for a couple years. I have had my oil analyzed multiple times on multiple engines, always a clean report. I'll stick with Wix.
210k miles on my 03 RSX-s I use Penzoil 5w30 and Wix filters.
Wix 57002 is my go to. I order in bulk from rock auto along with oil and air filter filters for all of my cars to save on shipping. Done two used oil analysis using the oil life monitor so these were about 7500 mile runs and the numbers looks great. The insoluble, which is what oil filters are supposed to filter out were very very low 1-2ppm. I’m happy.
I use WIX filters that are the XP version in my wife's 2013 Sonata, and change around 3-4K miles. Like younsaid donuse cheap filters, some are made poorly.
WIX oil filter... Best on the market without spending too much for a fancy name brand that isn't any better.
Had a conversation with a WIX rep and was told their best filter is done filtering around the 5000 mile range.
I really don’t wanna be that guy but just throw the wix out others might sell but wix is actually like the worst from experience at least from around here
