Been running Pennzoil Ultra and Ford OEM filter on my PP1 and now my Mach 1 for 5 years. Never had a single issue, even with some track days and AutoX.
I'd change the oil and filter with a Hyundai filter. Oil doesn't matter so much. These engines are very temperamental when it comes to the filters as they get higher in mileage.
I added one to my Ford Excursion years ago. Loved having it. Turn the key to on, wait for the oil pressure gauge to register, crank.
All you need
to do is change your oil
And oil filter every 5000 miles OR 6 months using a high quality FULL SYNTHETIC Oil and a quality ( HYUNDAI) oil filter!!
Try to source OEM Hyundai oil filter though. I've heard that ticking before with non-OE filters, and regardless of what shops tell you the OE filter can make a difference.
I purchased 10 pack OEM hyundai filter on amazon for $37. still have some left. 5 qt oil is $15 on sale at costco.
OEM oil filter is required in Hyundai or they will shut down and leave no codes in OBD2
72 dollars at my dealer, 120 everywhere else.
With Full synthetic oil and a HYUNDAI OIL FILTER and crush washer.... $70-100.
I double gasketed some dude\u2019s oil filter on his Crown Vic and got to enjoy the new experience of swinging an engine into that car for free
