Oil filter Mobil or OEM Mazda
I have used Mobil one synthetic on my 07 fit since 33,000km. Took the valve cover off once to adjust lash around 150, took it off at 200&230 and it looks like it was just assembled (I kid you not) - so realistically, I find the oil to be fine for my L15. Replaced my oil/filter ever 7000km (highway mostly) because it’s the cheapest maintenance if you plane to drive your car forever :)
So I have the very first year of the 2.0L Skyactiv engine in my Mazda 3 (2012). I have only used Mobile 1 alongside Mobil 1 filters. Truth is these engines are pretty solid.
The Mobil 1 m1-103a filter is the proper filter for your car. It's a high capacity filter designed for synthetic and it holds a large capacity of captured material.
i use mobil1 & OEM black filter. change it every 7000km.
I always use mobil 1 and a mobil 1 filter. The owners manual only recommends it.
Mobil1 0w20 and a Mobil1 Filter every 5k
I run M1 5w40 with an M1 filter.
I’ve also used Mobil oil filters because they’re easily accessible and manufactured by Mann.
Mobil 1 Extended Performance M1C-451 Plastic end caps (blue). Maybe viton seals on the filter? Says product of USA Rated up to 15,000 miles... which sounds worse than the stock filter (30,000 km...)
I wanted to give you guys a little insight on my recent discovery. I have always changed my oil @ 10K miles, using mainly pentosin and Hengst or mann filters. On occasion when I don't have time to wait for oil to ship to me, I've used German Castrol and autozone filters (either STP, Fram or Mobil 1). The picture below is what my mobil 1 oil filter looked like after 9K miles w/ German Castrol. Mind you I have NEVER had a Hengst/Mann/Fram/STP look like this when changing my oil. Another tid bit of info, My oil was much blacker this oil change than it has ever been.
